About Us
Out the Box Thinking is the brain child of Andy Golding.
Having left corporate life in July 2023, but still wanting to make a positive impact for customers and partners, I decided the best way to do this was to share the skills I’ve honed in Sales, Finance, Project Management and Sustainability, with companies looking to make their impact on the world.
My most recent challenge was an SMCR appointed role leading a project to redefine the way banks interact with their customers, embedding payments and loans in a digital journey and focussed deeply on the retail finance and bicycle market. With 20 years financial services experience in varied lending and 16 years of leadership experience at global PLCs like GE and Santander, my achievements vary from winning European sales leagues, to starting new business channels and sitting on European Green Finance committees. I’ve demonstrated my sales strategy and leadership skills by effectively managing and building multiple teams over the years. With a high success rate in identifying talent, I’m proud that a number of my direct appointments now sit in senior leadership positions themselves.
Outside of work I’m daddy to Zara and partner to Amy. I love spending time in the great outdoors, love riding bikes, compete in triathlons (I’ve qualified as a level1 British Triathlon Coach), I’m interested in any and all sports and have a passion for reducing the impact on the environment wherever I can. My involvement in building a business in the cycling industry has really changed my perspective on the challenges our planet faces, so if there is an opportunity that incorporates sustainability, mobility and changing the way we move, then that’s where my passion lies.

With 19 years finance experience. Having worked for PLCs like GE Money and Santander Consumer Finance, we have a deep understanding of financial services. In particular vehicle finance, consumer finance, stock finance, embedded finance, be that integrating financial products into journeys at the point of sale or digitally.

Unboxing Project Management
Having often being asked to be a subject matter expert or trial out new technology by being open to change, it’s safe to say we’ll get stuck into any project and bring the energy to complete it with success. Worked on projects from charitable builds (a founding member of the SCUK Charity Committee), new CRM systems, changing front end proposal systems, identifying and onboarding new suppliers via RFPs, improving retention and introducing remote e-sign. The biggest project of late included deploying ‘Biometric’ KYC and AML processes to connect into e-commerce platforms. Also created cycling & wellbeing events, from Triathlons to 4 days trips across Europe.

Unboxing Sustainability
Unboxing Sustainability with 5 years focussed on sustainability and the last 3 years contributing to the ‘Climate Action & Sustainability’ Committee in the UK and leading the ‘Green Finance Champions’ committee in Europe. We have a strong desire to place sustainability at the heart of what we do, having been responsible for introducing a number of sustainability led initiatives for example issuing the team at Santander with branded e-bikes, removing 1,910 car miles and almost 700Kgs of CO2 annually, from our carbon footprint. Also undertake volunteering, with WestAct2030 as part of their transport steering group, for the wider Bristol and North Somerset area.
